5 Signs Your Business Website Needs Replacing

Most business owners know when their website is looking tired — but it’s easy to put off doing anything about it. If any of these sound familiar, it’s probably time for a change.

1. It doesn’t work properly on mobile

More than half of all web browsing happens on phones. If your site is hard to navigate on a small screen, zooms in and out awkwardly, or has buttons that are impossible to tap — you’re losing people every day.

Mobile-friendly design isn’t optional anymore. It’s the baseline.

2. It loads slowly

People don’t wait. If your site takes more than a couple of seconds to load, a significant portion of visitors will leave before they’ve seen anything. Slow sites also rank lower in Google.

If your hosting is cheap and your site is bloated with old plugins and heavy images, speed is likely an issue.

3. It looks dated

Web design moves fast. A site that looked fine five years ago can look noticeably old today. If your site looks like it was built in a different era, that impression transfers to your business.

You don’t need to redesign every year, but there’s a point where old design starts to cost you credibility.

4. You can’t update it easily — or it never gets updated

If your site still shows outdated information, old contact details, or services you no longer offer, it’s working against you. And if it’s too complicated or expensive to update, it’ll stay that way.

A well-built site should be manageable. Ours are fully handled by us — so if you need something changed, you just ask.

5. It’s not bringing in any enquiries

A website that gets traffic but no contact form submissions or phone calls isn’t doing its job. That usually points to a design or content problem — something is putting people off before they get to the point of getting in touch.

If your site exists but never generates leads, it’s not earning its place.

If one or more of these apply to your business, a new website could make a real difference. At Lily Paw Digital we build custom websites for small businesses across the North East — designed to look good, load fast, and actually bring in work.

Get in touch and we’ll take a look at what you’ve got and what we’d do differently.
